Microsoft recently launched IE 10 with lots of hype. But the celebrations were shortlived when experts discovered a titanic sized zero-day security hole. If any IE user visits any malicious website and the site decides to or is able to exploit the security problem then the site can use your PC as much as you can. Take that!
There is a tiny good news as well. If you are using IE 10 then you are probably safe. People who are using IE 6, 7, 8, or 9 on Windows XP, Vista or 7 will be affected from this flaw. Some reason to upgrade, eh?
Microsoft came up with a predictable, cliché and non-committal response. “We’re aware of targeted attacks potentially affecting some versions of Internet Explorer. We have confirmed that Internet Explorer 10 is not affected by this issue.”, YunSun Wee said to the leading tech-site Mashable.
Looking for some advice from our internet security experts of ITChimes? Firstly, immediately switch to another browser and if possible uninstall IE from your computer for the time being. And if you can, stay away from IE for your own good. If you really want to live with IE, upgrade to IE 10.
